every artistic scene is lead by their artists and kept alive by their fans, but mostly by its talents, who can look outside of the box and have a great relationship with their crowd. junior c is a great example of how this theory comes true for a dj and producer. in this ep he has worked with h.o.s.h., gui boratto and gunjah to create new approaches of his latest single “coming over” and the result are 3 different interpretations of this dance floor timeless song, full of groove, lush harmonies and organic undertones. it doesn t take much to imagine this ep owning dance floors in the months and years to come. engineered to perfection by label head gui boratto, it s an exciting step for the imprint and the project alike.

second release for patrick gibin aka twice and his ‘collective blends’ project which includes musicians from his home town verona - italy : for this release the collective invited special guest clara hill on vocals. the raw hypnotic moog bassline together with the brazilian influenced hi-hats and rhythms of the title track “time goes by” build a solid atmospheric groove elevated by clara hills’ vocals, that give the track that unique soulful swing. on the flip, volcov’s spaced out dub version of “time goes by” is as deep as it gets and the third track, phanareega, keeps the energy high with its combination of live acoustic/electronic drums, sharp bassline and anthem strings.

the double drop label present the second of three parts from the invisible cities collective, made up of luca c & brigante plus guests. following the summers moments in between (featuring ivan smagghe remixes), in my garden finds the guys carving a sumptuous slo-mo house groove, with a rather special secret collaborator on vocal duties. the result is something lush and unique. the original is backed with a fine interpretation from the mole, and the super cool edge of our love completes the package. the new music from invisible cities doesnt stop there. next up is part 3, sunkissed with remixes from apiento and special dubs from mad professor.

berlin experimental techno duo these hidden hands recently teamed up with lucrecia dalt for a 12&#8243,, on hidden hundred, these moments dismantled. the abstract sonic terrain plotted in the eponymous first track finds its logical conclusion on the b-side, where tension and release oscillate in a harrowing groove. the artwork, created by jesse draxler, adds another layer of apocalypticism to the package. heres an ep with two songs that are sure to take you back. originally mixed by the legendary larry levan of the world famous paradise garage. these two tracks were both considered anthems when played by larry himself. officially released in 1986, but this demo mix of winners was never released. larry levan played this unreleased cut for many years. groove was never actually released and it was larrys secret weapon! in january of 2003, both songs will be available for the first time together and are sure to bring back the nostalgia that has tried to be recaptured ever since. written by brodie williams. mixed by larry levan

andre crom returns to off with a deep and moody piece of house music. based on a layer of solid drums and a warm bassline, the track evolves with a gliding synth hook and bell theme, topped by a haunting vocal featuring bramwell. berlins rising star jonas saalbach delivers a spacy interpretation, altering the original theme and introducing new synth layers. finally, london-based ashwort adds a toolish deep techno remix, only using fragments of the vocal to give more focus to the groove.

locked grooves third release on his eponymous label sees the belgian deliver an intense and driving two tracker. following his memorable collaboration with mind against and a track on life and deaths some things rise compilation, end/scherzo reveals a dark rêverie. end, with its haunting, hypnotizing synths, pulls you deeper and deeper into the vortex while scherzo brings you back up for air with its lively play of arpeggios and crescendos. end/ scherzo arrives on december 11th on both physical and digital formats, while both previous locked groove records releases will be made available digitally for the first time on the same date.

groove line records are proud to add to their 2015 releases of half-speed mastered re-issue singles with both the extended special disco version and instrumental version of earth wind & fire s 1976 funk bomb getaway gracing each side of a 180g 12” virgin vinyl disc. looking to gain on his groups critical and commercial success from the early 1970s ew&f s main man maurice white brought in the legendary charles stepney, who had tutored him at chicago s chess records in the 1960s, as the co-producer and arranger on their incredible 1976 album spirit, which opened up with the formidable funk track getaway. co-written by guitarist, vocalist and songwriter bernard “beloyd” taylor (s.o.u.l.) and songwriter peter corbelenky around the theme of escapism and self-fulfilment, the primal urgency of getaway was the ideal composition for white to record with ew&f. white felt the song s energy and positive, uplifting lyrics matched the attitude and ethos of his group perfectly. as a result ew&f created a funk gem both musically and lyrically perfect for the dance floor.

the original version is nothing short of a classic, but its as if the song had never been invited to a louie vega post-midnight global extravaganza. was the song not aware that spellbound dancing and high bpms were the standard for house music? normally, such a blaring disregard for nightlife decorum would relegate a song to the pits of sonic hell, but we’re talking about george clinton here! the original opens up with a g-funk groove that screams westside and lowriders. the listener is then blessed with clinton as he adds his sage, soulful and pimpadelic vocals, complemented by funkadelic singers asking him about the pains of the funk. the semblance of a beat that could drive the dancefloor into the morning hours is there, but in no way has it blossomed into its full glory. enter louie vega.

the g man hits the planet rhythm imprint (finally) with a slice of infectious dancefloor material. binkys groove ep revolves around tough house/techno jams with an attitude. from the gritty almost dancehallish rhythms in ms retrograde to the anthemous bassline sounds in binkys groove and the very uk sounding g vibe on dis-tracted! mr.g has delivered a modern day prruk classic.

the head of grounded theory berlin returns to sonic groove with his strongest outing on the label to date. henning baer brings forth a rough and tough diverse four cut ep of chunky rhythmatic techno. recording the songs during live jams and using a previously decided pool of hardware this ep has a nice old school vibe. the sound production however is very much in the modern day with its well crafted mix downs. this release has strong mass appeal for the purist techno connoisseur.
